How to choose a FM Transmitter
So i was looking the other day for a new FM transmitter for my ipod shuffle and the main problem was that there were just too many too choose from. At the minute i just use the tape deck believe it or not and i have this transformer thing than plays straight into it. Only problem is they keep breaking, though i cant really complain and they cost around $10! I did have one of these FM transmitters a few years ago actually and i have to say it was not a great success. The sound quality was so patchy, unless i had the transmitter in a really specific part of the car then the reception was just terrible. I suppose another factor is the quality of the radio in your car and i have to admit mine is not great, it can at times struggle to pick up main radio stations so i suppose i shouldn’t blame the transmitter.
Still im still wondering if i should plump for another device like the Itrip which i think is most popular or another brand as there really seems to be alot of transmitters. The price can vary quite alot too, can go anywhere from $10 to $50 so im wondering what is the real difference in these FM transmitters. It could be the output signal strength then again on the other hand it could just be the brand name, i see lots of expensive Belkin ones and i really cant tell the difference between them and the cheaper versions. If only there was some way to test drive them in the store!
